OCD Therapy in Salt Lake City
Intrusive thoughts can feel urgent, convincing, or out of character. If you are spending a lot of time checking, seeking certainty, avoiding triggers, or doing rituals to feel safe, support is available.
Request a consultationOCD is more than visible compulsions
Obsessive-compulsive disorder can involve unwanted thoughts, images, or urges and attempts to make the uncertainty go away. Compulsions may be visible, such as checking or repeating, or internal, such as reviewing memories, mentally neutralizing a thought, or trying to feel completely sure. Reassurance and avoidance can also keep the cycle going.
Many people with OCD know the fear feels disproportionate and still feel compelled to respond. The content of an intrusive thought does not define your values or character. We approach these experiences with care and without judgment.
How we approach OCD treatment
Understand your pattern
We identify how obsessions, uncertainty, distress, and compulsions interact in your day-to-day life, including the quieter mental rituals.
Practice new responses
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) helps you gradually face feared situations while reducing rituals and avoidance. The work is planned collaboratively and adjusted to your goals.
Support the whole person
We consider stress, relationships, trauma history, and other needs while keeping the OCD treatment plan clear and practical.
What happens in ERP?
ERP involves building a thoughtful set of practice steps and learning to stay with uncertainty without performing the response that briefly relieves it. You and your therapist decide where to begin and review what you learn along the way. The aim is greater flexibility and freedom in daily life, not a promise that intrusive thoughts will never appear.

You do not have to explain it perfectly
If you suspect OCD or are unsure whether your experience fits, a consultation is a place to ask. We can talk about what is happening and whether our team is the right fit.
